•    These are four main: Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Shudras
•    It’s believed that Brahmins, the teachers are  Brahma's head. Kshatriyas, the warriors and rulers are Brahma’s arms. Vaishyas, the traders are Brahma’s thighs, and finally, Shudras, the workers are Brahma's feet.
There is a Shloka -

 

ब्राह्मणः अस्य मुखम् आसीत् बाहू राजन्यः कृतः |
ऊरू तत्-अस्य यत्-वैश्यः पद्भ्याम् शूद्रः अजायतः ||
                                                                   (ऋग्वेद संहिता, मण्डल 10, सूक्त 90, ऋचा 12)

•    Example of some Thalis of modern practice – Modiji Thali, Bahubali Thali, Sarpanch Thali, Maharaja Bhog Thali, Kumbhkaran Thali, Ahilya Devi Thali.
•    Many Muslims and Hindu women strictly deny drinking alcohol.
•    Wash your hand before eating otherwise you may be Invited.

If you are in doubt to address someone, it is safe to say “Sir or Ma'am”
•    Generally, men will shake hands at the time of a meeting or leaving
•    Men should not attempt to shake hands with women
•    Some Indian women might shake hands with a western woman
•    According to our culture elders and superior are greeted first.
•    Don’t stand too close to others
•    Always use your right hand to touch, give, eat, or accept something.
•    Use both hands to give or receive gifts.
•    If everything is OK then don’t use Black or White because it denotes anger, negativity and mourning.
• Always try to address people by their professional title Dr, professor or, Mr or Mrs, etc. followed by their surname
